September will mark the 17th year of the eight grade Kids in the Creek program, which to date has reached nearly 10,800 students. The program gets students into the aquatic environment where they learn hands-on about watersheds, water chemistry, macro-invertebrates, and fish found in our local streams.
The event is cosponsored by Haywood County Schools with funding from the Pigeon River Fund of the Community Foundation of Western North Carolina and private donations.
