Waynesville man charged with murder

Justin Scott Fuller, of Waynesville was arrested Saturday, April 22, and charged with murder following a dispute with Christopher Phillips.

The Waynesville Police Department responded to Prevost Street, Waynesville, around 1:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon when multiple calls of gunshots were reported.

Officers arrived to find bystanders performing CPR on Phillips, who was later pronounced dead on the scene. Witnesses directed officers to a neighboring street where Justin Scott Fuller, who had fled the scene, was taken into custody.

The investigation into all of the circumstances involved in this incident continues, but investigators have charged Fuller with murder. Anyone with information in regard to this criminal investigation is encouraged to contact the Waynesville Police Department at 828.456.5363.
