Winter weather causes Parkway closures

The first winter weather closures of the season will be in effect on the Blue Ridge Parkway this weekend.

Several campgrounds originally scheduled to be open through this weekend will be closed, and rangers will close gates today along potentially impacted areas. If the storm doesn’t materialize, the roads will likely reopen the following morning. Up-to-date information on closures will be posted at www.nps.gov/maps/blri/road-closures.

Mt. Pisgah Campground and Linville Falls Campground will close once all campers who stayed there last night have checked out. Reservations scheduled through the remainder of the weekend will be refunded. Guests at Pisgah Inn will be allowed to stay through mid-morning tomorrow (Nov. 1), when conditions are expected to improve.
