Outdoor gear store in Franklin celebrates expansion

out 76expandsFranklin’s downtown outdoor gear store just got bigger.

The Franklin Chamber of Commerce recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the new location and expansion of Outdoor 76. The locally owned outdoor shop moved across the street to a larger location at 35 E. Main St. in downtown Franklin. Outdoor 76 offers products such as hiking gear, kayaks, canoes, stand-up paddleboards, fly-fishing gear, tents, hammocks, camping and hiking necessities. It is also a local resource for information on hiking trails, fishing spots and paddling runs.

The most notable addition to Outdoor 76’s offerings at its new location is the Rock House Lodge, which offers beers in bottles and on tap, brewed by local and national craft brewers. The new location is also next door to Smoky Mountain Bicycles.

“We are open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday, so everyone has an opportunity to come in,” said co-owner Rob Gasbarro.
