The Haywood Arts Regional Theater will hold auditions for “You
Can’t Take it With You,” its first main stage production
of its 2005 season, at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday and Monday, March 6 and
7, at Performing Arts Center in Waynesville. The show is a large
cast comedy with numerous roles for all ages.
Written in the 1930s by George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart, the play was turned into an award-winning film with Jimmy Stewart. It tells the story of a the daughter of a wacky family who falls for the son of a conservative banker. Sam Greenalch is directing the show, which will open on April 29 for a two-week run.
Anyone interested in working on stage or back stage, on the stage
crew, lighting, or sound is encouraged to stop by during auditions
to get involved. Anyone interested in being in the cast will be
asked to read from the script. The Performing Arts Center is located
at 250 Pigeon Street in downtown Waynesville.
