Macon County Gemboree opens July 26

art gemboreeGem and mineral dealers and rock hounds from across the country will converge on Franklin for the 47th Annual Macon County Gemboree July 26-29.

The event will be held at the Macon County Community Building located just south of Franklin off U.S. 441. This gem and mineral show, the second oldest event of its kind in the Southeast, is known across the nation as one of the region’s finest events.

The event is a joint effort of the Franklin Chamber of Commerce and the Gem & Mineral Society of Franklin.

Those attending this year’s Gemboree will find an unmatched selection of fine jewelry, rough and cut gems and minerals, a wide variety of beads, lapidary equipment, fossils and will even be able to observe the fine art of faceting stones.

The 47th Annual Macon County Gemboree will run from Thursday, July 26, through Sunday, July 29.  Hours for the event are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday through Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Daily admission is $3 for adults with those ages 12 & under admitted free. A Run-of-Show Ticket is also available for the event. This special pass is $5 and allows admission to the event all four days.
