MedWest hosts Triathlon

MedWest is sponsoring a triathlon at 8 a.m. July 7 at the MedWest Health & Fitness Center in Clyde.

The triathlon includes a 300-yard swim in the indoor pool with biking and running portions on lightly traveled roads with great scenery. This event is for beginner triathletes but is great for those who like to go really fast. The bike is 10 miles with a 5K run.

The 25-yard pool is clean and modern with six-lanes in which the athletes will swim two lengths in each lane before moving to the next lane. The swim will feature a time-trial start with the fastest swimmers going first. During the registration process, participants will be asked to submit their 100-yard swim time. This time is not the fastest the participant can swim, but the expected average time of the entire swim.

Registration is $60 for individuals and $90 for relays. www.gloryhoundevents.com/medwest-triathlon
