May 29 is National College Savings Plan Day, and the NC 529 Plan through the College Foundation of North Carolina is celebrating with a new giveaway to promote saving for education and planning for the future.

The Spring Into Savings: NC 529 Day Giveaway! is open to all current and new account holders, and one lucky winner will receive a $1,529 contribution to an NC 529 Account.

A 529 Account is a tax-advantaged way to save and invest for education. 529 funds can be used for two- and four-year colleges, K-12 tuition, certain student loan payments, and more.

(2) entries – Set up a new automatic contribution through a bank or employer payroll deduction.

(2) entries – Increase a current recurring contribution by at least $25 per account.

(2) entries – Open a new NC 529 Account and make a minimum $25 contribution.

“The NC 529 Plan is excited to celebrate 5/29 Day with the families of North Carolina by giving away $1,529 for education,” said Laura Morgan, Vice President of Communications, Savings, and Legal Affairs at College Foundation, Inc. “Whether they are current account holders who have trusted NC 529 to help them plan for their children’s education or they’re just getting started on their journey to save, we’re here to support families as they plan for those important educational goals.”

The Spring Into Savings: NC 529 Day Giveaway! is sponsored by College Foundation, Inc. (CFI), a North Carolina nonprofit. After the giveaway closes, one name will be drawn, and the winner will be notified of the $1,529 contribution to their NC 529 Account.
