Guest travel bloggers needed

Haywood Tourism Development Authority is currently looking for volunteer guest travel bloggers to contribute articles to its Homegrown Blog on www.visitncsmokies.com.

While the TDA staff contributes blogs on a weekly basis, they want to include more local voices and their passion for all there is to do in Haywood County. The posts are required to be specifically about a travel or tourism related topic in Haywood County as the overall goal is to encourage travelers to visit Haywood County. Each posting would also need photos submitted with it as well.

If you are interested in submitting a guest blog or have questions, contact Anna Smathers at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Include any sample writings or topics that you are interested in covering. If picked for a blog, the TDA will credit you for your work and include a short bio.

At our inception 20 years ago, we chose to be different. Unlike other news organizations, we made the decision to provide in-depth, regional reporting free to anyone who wanted access to it. We don’t plan to change that model. Support from our readers will help us maintain and strengthen the editorial independence that is crucial to our mission to help make Western North Carolina a better place to call home. If you are able, please support The Smoky Mountain News.

The Smoky Mountain News is a wholly private corporation. Reader contributions support the journalistic mission of SMN to remain independent. Your support of SMN does not constitute a charitable donation. If you have a question about contributing to SMN, please contact us.
