Scary stories at Shelton House

art sheltonspookyA Ghosts & Goblets storytelling event will occur at 7 p.m. Oct. 27 at the Shelton House in Waynesville.

In addition to the traditional adult ghost stories in the house, there will be a special area for children’s entertainment. Storytellers Jane Shipman and Lynne Leatherwood will create a captivating atmosphere of suspense and interest for children (and adults) around the campfire. Adult stories will occur in the house with Mary Ann Enloe, Cliff Hannah and Malinda Messer setting the tone for a somber, unnerving series of tales. Children attending the house events must be accompanied by an adult. The event offers light snacks, goblets of wine and hot/cold cider in the barn.

Tickets are $10 for ages 10 and up, $5 for ages 5 to 9. Children under 5 are free. Advance tickets may be purchased at Blue Ridge Books and also at the barn the evening of the event.
