'A Christmas Carol' hits HART

art dickensCharles Dickens’ classic work “A Christmas Carol” is coming to the Haywood Arts Regional Theatre in Waynesville this month.

It will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 7 and 8 and Dec. 14 and 15. Afternoon performances will be at 3 p.m. Dec. 9 and 16 and at 2 p.m. Dec. 15.

Evening performance tickets are $20 for adults, $17 for seniors and $7 for students and children. Matinee performance tickets are $16 for adults, $14 for seniors and $6 for students and children.

    We have lots of bug barns in our house: from the old-fashioned Mason jar with holes punched in the lid to a new-fangled, plastic-domed “ladybug playground” with tiny slides and such.

     

    I wager in most families bug barns are relegated to the backyard. Ours, however, take up residence on the kitchen table, with up to four bug barns simultaneously occupied by caterpillars, ants, moths, beetles and even spiders.
